Moments at MOCAD

The group exhibition at MOCAD that opened over the weekend is pretty great!

I particularly loved the video piece by Peter Fischli & David Weiss..

And there's a great giant top hat that you must see, but I can't remember that artist's name.

I snapped the pictures below with my phone. I thought this series of strawberries was beautiful. That poppy red against white is so nice. I took the other picture below because it gave me an idea and I know I will want to reference it later. I'm not even sure exactly what the idea is yet.

Michigan Humane Society Wish List

My friend Kat is always helping the Michigan Humane Society every year in any way she can & I just received an email from her regarding help for this year. You can view their wish list here at their website.

Even simple things like newspaper and blankets are needed so if ya got anything to spare...make it happen!

Also, there's a pug on the loose in Livonia so keep your eyes peeled for this lil' guy if you're in the area.

Studio Visit Volume 1

This is the beginning of a series of videos that I'm going to be producing with Danny Ribar & James Jasionowski. The aww sweet ruckus collective site will be up soon with more to come.

Quick back story:
Mike and James had a canvas primed for last years Art Battle. Mike was attacked and put in the hospital the night before the battle from serious head trauma. So James fought bravely by himself while Mike was in the hospital. I saw Mike about two weeks later and he was in surprisingly good spirits & we talked about the tragedy of his giant primed canvas laying around cold and dingy white. So I told him he should just come do their Art Battle project in my space.

I appreciate them being the first of this series, they're such talented dudes and I'm one of their biggest fans.

I think these series of documented vids will be the next layer that will create more sense of this whole collective/collaboration of artists I've been working with since the first Good Wood Show in 2007.
